Abstract

Root  resorption  is  the  loss  of  dental  hard  tissue  as  a  result  of  odontoclastic  action.  There  are  several types of root resorption, including external cervical resorption. External cervical resorption is uncommon; it begins on the cervical third of the tooth and it’s usually asymptomatic. Because of that, it’s a radiographic finding. It’s a challenging diagnosis, because it can be confused with a caries  lesion  or  internal  root  resorption.  Several  etiological  factors  have  been  associated  with  this  lesion. In this case report, a case of an external cervical resorption in a mandibular lateral incisor of a 33 years old female patient is described
